I think your hosting server doesn’t allow a (secure) connection to browserid.org to verify the e-mail address. Is there some kind of error message? What you can do is turn on the debug mode using the plugin options so you can see some more things.

Tried to apply BrowserID on wordpress 3.3.1 installation @ http://mwc.rottigni.net.
Click the BrowserID login button and confirm my mail, after a while I receive a Couldn’t connect to host error… what am I doing wrong?

The reason is mainly that I wanted a all-in-one solution. tvheadend is quite stable and the same applies to XBMC, although I have to say I am not a daily user. Both tvheadend (changelog) and XBMC are actively developed. For XBMC we can expect Eden in the near future. VDR doesn't seems to be developed active anymore (changelog).

Hi Marcel,
At a certain moment you switched from vdr to tvheadend. Years ago I tried Mythtv and I was fond of it. When I changed from analog to digital tv however I started using vdr as at that time Mythtv was only able to decrypt streams on the first adapter (don’t know if this has changed since then)
Now I’m still using vdr + sxfe as I find this the most stable solution. I tried xbmc-pvr2 as a frondtend. It’s beautifull but in my opinion a little unstable.
Can you please tell me the reason why you switched to tvheadend and maybe why others should too? I know it’s a lot easier to setup, but is it also better in terms of stability?

If you entered a valid POP or IMAP server address, then it could be that DNS is not working correctly on the hosting server. If this is the case, only your hosting provider can solve this.

Awesome plugin. I can send messages but I am having a problem with receiving messages.

It comes up with this message “cannot connect to host; error = php_network_getaddresses: getaddrinfo failed: Name or service not known (errno = 0 )”.

Thanks, your precompiled binary and ipodns.sh work great on my SE MK16i (Android 2.3.4)! I downloaded tun.ko with “Tun.ko installer” from the Android market, a precompiled module was already available.

I miss the option for commenters to identify through browserid. The openID plugin offers the option to approve comments from authenticated instead of holding for moderation. Would be nice to have that for BrowserID as well?

This means your PHP installation doesn't support the mb_convert_encoding function, which is required to use the plugin. You could try to ask support from your hosting provider on this.

Hi, i successfully downloaded and installed this plugin. I am using WordPress’ latest version. However, when i activated it, it triggered an error and couldnt activate. What could the problem be?

The error was something like this:

Plugin could not be activated because it triggered a fatal error.
Required function “mb_convert_encoding” does not exist

This problem is most probably not specific to the One-Time Password plugin. Your hosting provider doesn’t allow writing in the folder /tmp, which the WordPress installer tries to do to install a plugin (but also when installing themes and the WordPress core itself).

You will have to ask support from your hosting provider for this.

Small update: after a lot of frustration with MythTV and sasc-ng I am now back to XBMC. As you may know XMBC 11 is almost ready, and I decided to install a version 11 pre-release (see http://packages.pulse-eight.net/UbuntuInstall). To my surprise I can schedule records from within XBMC now! Also I found a very nice EPG table in this version. This version works very well for me. It occasionally crashes but I hope that will be fixed in the final release.

I also compiled the latest tvheadend from source (git) and this also fixed some problems I had before.
